Digital marketing concept with a glossary

Introduction

In this article, I highlight various digital marketing concepts I came across as a front-end web developer. This context presents an overview and precise information on the most effective marketing method.

Digital marketing

Defining digital marketing, in my words, is a marketing method that can be implemented by full-stack web development of tools that are easily integrated with website data, which could be in the form of a blog, interactive data, or a digital product to improve business sales, social media interaction, communication, internet income, affiliate marketing, e-commerce, etc.

Therefore, digital marketing contributed to many of the tools, which can be known by the various technical terms that I have mentioned:

Search engine optimization (SEO)

SEO is mainly about optimizing a website, either on-page or off-page. On-page optimization comprises title tags and meta descriptions, header tags, URLs, image alt text, internal links, keywords, and a sitemap. Off-page optimization is all about link building.

Web analytics

To generate leads and increase sales, many e-commerce brands use web analytics data to control consumer interaction in real-time. It is necessary to know the online traffic on the website in a particular time interval, for example, retail. In other words, optimizing data with web analytics tools is necessary to improve sales growth.

Pay per click (PPC)

Visitors click on an advertisement placed in the search results for a specific keyword in return for a specified payment. Moreover, an advertiser only pays the amount (bid) they have agreed to a person or agency for increasing sales by getting maximum clicks on the advertisement that directs to the landing page on their website. Thus, an advertiser doesn’t need to pay for the ad appearing on the search result page. In simple words, the advertiser only pays when visitors click on the advertisement. Therefore, it is carried out in two key segments: PPC campaigns and selecting the right keywords.

Conversion rate optimization

It analyzes the consumer’s behavior to get motivated to buy a particular product in the consumer segment by reacting to a marketing element by the sales employee. Therefore, the main focus of conversion rate optimization is to convert a percentage of visitors into buyers by using a marketing campaign or various marketing techniques. Consequently, it can be done through multiple online SEO and link-building tools.

Email marketing

Email marketing is considered one of the most efficient direct communications between consumers and businesses. Earlier, direct marketing was the most recommended approach for consumers. Email marketing is currently encouraging enterprises to achieve better conversion rates. One of the advantages of email marketing campaigns is the higher response rates of campaigns created with shorter durations and lower costs. Also, email marketing can be used for market research, for instance, to carry out an extensive campaign for consumers to respond to a product.

Content marketing

Content marketing is creating engaging content for a particular target market and publishing it on the internet. It could be in the form of blogs, newsletters, social media posts, business plans, or video-sharing sites. Now, it is indeed part of business conglomerates. As a result, various industries are focused on preparing content and marketing it strategically to address customer needs. Consequently, content marketing solidifies the branding and market position of the product.

Social media

Social media is used to brand the name of the product or person by publicizing the content and increasing the service’s visibility across online users. All sizes of enterprises benefit from the effort put into social media. Similarly, a person working in a small or large enterprise in a digital marketing position or an entrepreneur can use social media marketing to achieve financial and economic success in a business.
